Happy Clients

I recently claimed on our Petplan insurance policy for our much loved Ragdoll cat, Kelly.

Kelly went from a being bit less playful and a bit quieter thank usual to a very sick and dehydrated cat in 48 hours. Her illness became apparent on a Saturday morning and our local vet was really worried she may have leukemia. He wanted full blood tests asap and the only place I could get these done was at an Emergency Vet.

This vet was also very concerned about Kelly's condition and wanted to admit her and get her on intravenous fluids and antibiotics, as well as full blood tests. As she explained what she wanted to do and the costs involved I told her Kelly was insured with Petplan and she said: "That was a good decision you made."

Kelly was in intensive care for 2 days, had blood tests and Xrays, which ruled a lot of things out, but still did not give an answer to what was wrong with her. She improved on the therapy and I learned that cats are experts at hiding their illnesses until they can hide it no longer, and then they are very sick. On the Monday she was referred to a Specialist Vet for further assessment and an ultrasound was done. Kelly is now back home with my 16 year old daughter who has just started Year 12. Although we have not found out exactly what the problem was, the vets have been able to rule out a lot of serious and life threatening conditions, so we are very relieved.

The total vet bills were over $3000 and you have paid the claim before my credit card is due, which is great!

I have being telling a lot of people about Petplan. It is amazing how many people do not know about pet insurance. It was such a relief to be able to let the vets carry out the tests they wanted and do everything we could for Kelly without worry about how we were going to pay for it.

Thank you Petplan Team.

Kind Regards,

Sue Chapman
