Petplan to Sponsor 2017 RMS General Specials Day

The Royal Melbourne Show All Breeds Championship Show is Australia’s most prestigious competition with more than 3,700 entries in 2,400 classes across 200 breeds. The competition runs over 9 days during the 2017 Royal Melbourne Show – from Saturday, September 23 until Tuesday, October 3, with the General Specials day on Saturday, September 30.

The dogs are judged by a panel of esteemed local and international judges on breed standards of conformation in the hope of winning the Best in Show. The Best in Show Championship is streamed live worldwide, and the show provides exhibitors and breeders the opportunity to promote their breed, and socialise with other exhibitors.

Petplan Australia is the proud sponsor of the 2017 General Specials Day, and continues to support the RASV to maximise the appeal and success of the event.

The prize pool for the 2017 show is bigger than ever, and Petplan Australia is donating prizes for the winners. This year they are providing cash prizes and pet insurance vouchers for the winners of Best in Show, Best Puppy in Show, Best Baby Puppy in Show and Best Breeder Group in Show. Director Gwen Ford will be attending the General Specials Day to award the winners of those four categories with a giant cheque, custom made rosette, and a pet insurance voucher, and to photograph them.

Although not exhibiting at the 2017 Royal Melbourne Show, Petplan Australia will be setting up a pop-up stand in the Dog Pavilion on General Specials Day – Saturday, October 30 and the team will be available to answer any questions you may have.
