Miniature Schnauzer Breed Profile

The Miniature Schnauzer originated in Germany in the 15th and 16th centuries with their name coming from the German word ‘snout’ which means ‘moustache’, because of the breeds distinctively bearded snout. Although they are considered a terrier-type dog, they do not have the typical terrier temperament. They are an energetic breed who are bold, alert and loyal and often live between 12 – 16 years.
